Chinese Windmill Palm (Trachycarpus fortunei)
Many experts claim this to the hardiest arborescent palm tree. Reportedly, the Chinese Windmill Palm has recovered from temperatures as low as -11 degrees F without serious injury, though they cannot tolerate temperatures that low every winter. The palm on the right survived -8 degrees in 1985, our coldest temperature ever recorded.
